The classic Victorian and colonial revival architecture found along some of its original streets varies in size and style giving the impression that the area is more like a turn of the century retreat rather than a contemporary city.
 
The downtown business district of Pacific Grove is filled with locally owned boutiques, art galleries, antique stores, and restaurants, offering residents a variety of shopping and dining opportunities, each with its own unique take on what it is to live and experience life on the rocky coast of Monterey Bay.
 
Pacific Grove is a short 30 minute drive to Big Sur and Carmel Valley.
