Carmel Valley is primarily recognized for its vineyards and lush rolling hills. The town is the lesser known destination in California’s wine country with the first grapevines in the region planted in the 1960’s. It is recognized for its many varietals, including cabernet sauvignon, chardonnay, and pinot noir. It is a place where high end hotels and Inns mix perfectly with the unique wineries, high end estates, and tasting rooms.

For its approximately 4,000 residents, Carmel Valley is a rural and pastoral hideaway where you can find a combination of retirees and families. An excellent school system, favorable climate, and an enchanting landscape make Carmel Valley an alluring and desirable place to call home. This area offers many art galleries, wine tasting rooms, golf courses, hiking trails, upscale restaurants and farm fresh cuisine. Nearby golf courses include Carmel Valley Ranch, The Preserve Golf Club, Quail Lodge Golf Club, and Tehama Golf Club.

The town itself encompasses miles of vineyards, open space, and single family homes surrounded by woodlands populated by California Oaks, chaparral, riparian landscapes, and lush grasslands. Play a round of golf on any of the four nearby professionally designed golf courses. Hike, bike or horseback ride on the many trails found throughout the hillsides. Tour the wineries, most of which are walking distance to one another. This town is a perfect destination for those looking for a respite.
